Southwest Special by writer/director Peter M Kershaw
I am pleased to announce that we have started into pre-production for the Southwest based Indie Feature – Southwest Special.
“If you don’t know where you are going, any road will get you there.”
Exchange between Alice and the Cheshire Cat.
Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.
Southwest Special is a Wizard of Oz meets Alice in Wonderland story for the Southwest. This is a film about cinema, the hold screen stories have over us, and the passion for storytelling.
Southwest Special is a story about three wannabe Southwest filmmakers who have a shot at a $25,000 Award to get a toehold in film production.
At its core, this is a story about the passion that drives Indie filmmakers and lovers of cinema against all odds and costs to want to put their stories on the screen. It’s why cinema exists.
Internally, our story is about identity and perceptions of who we are, the labels that others give us. Echoing the theme of projections and perceptions, as a fantasy/drama Southwest Special shows the characters’ imagined and actual worlds as seen by them on cinema screens. They are addicted to the world of movies, so they see the influence of movies around them in their everyday life.
At its heart, our story centers on the relationship between parents and their children. Here, a single parent Antonio and his son Rich.
